Woman on scooter driven over by van in NYC, police say

A woman riding a Lime scooter in Brooklyn Tuesday morning was critically injured when she was run over by a van, police said.

The accident happened around 11.15am when the 24-year-old woman was driving next to the truck in Williamsburg, police said.

Both vehicles were driving east on Meeker Avenue when the 33-year-old van driver tried to drive right onto Skillman Avenue and hit her, according to police.

“She’s being run over by the truck,” a police source said.

The woman suffered traumatic injuries to her lower body and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
