Rockstar has delayed the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition following the collection’s troubled digital launch this month.

The physical release of GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition was previously scheduled for December 7 on Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, Switch and PS4.

But on Tuesday, Rockstar announced that the Xbox and PS4 versions will now come later in December, while the Switch version has been pushed to 2022.

“The Xbox Series X / Xbox One and PS4 will now be released on December 17. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive in early 2022.”

Earlier Tuesday, Rockstar released the second major GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition patch that fixes over 100 bugs.

The version 1.03 update addresses a number of issues across all three games, including spelling errors on signs and several instances where rain would appear indoors during intermediate sequences. It also adds cloud cover when flying at high altitudes in San Andreas.

The much-anticipated remaster collection released this month with a significant number of technical issues as well as “unintentional” documents in its game files, such as unlicensed music and developer notes.

Rockstar subsequently apologized to fans for the state of the game and promised a number of updates to improve the title.

“The Grand Theft Auto series – and the games that make up this iconic trilogy – are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world,” it said. “The updated versions of these classic games were not launched in a state that lives up to our own quality standards or the standards that our fans have come to expect.”

Rockstar added: “We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality they deserve to be.”
