A man killed in what police believe was a deliberate hit and run in the port countries this week has, according to members of his family, been identified as Jamil Nazarali.
Nazarali died after a man driving a pick-up truck hit him in the Polson and Cherry streets area Monday night. Toronto police were called to the scene at 21.08
Nazarali is the city’s 38th year of homicide. Paramedics in Toronto tried to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His age is not released.
Police are searching for a man, 32, from Toronto, in connection with the murder. The accused is wanted for second-degree murder and attempted murder.
According to police, there was an altercation, then a man got into a pick-up truck and deliberately hit a pedestrian. Police have not named the victim.
According to police, the driver fled the scene in the truck, which has since been restored.
The wanted man was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue denim shorts and white shoes.
