People working in Vancouver find relatively affordable housing outside the city.

One place is Mission, which is at the east end of the West Coast Express, a daily train.

Although detached houses in Mission do not cost as much as in most cities, these properties now cost nearly $ 1 million each.

A report by the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board shows that the benchmark price for a single-family home in Mission rose to $ 999,100 in October 2021.

In the same month last year, a detached house in the city cost 726,000 kroner.

This means that the benchmark price rose 37.6 percent in one year’s time.

For $ 999,100, Mission Homes are the most affordable compared to other markets served by FVREB.

The board covers Abbotsford, Langley, Mission, North Delta, Surrey and White Rock.

In a report on Tuesday (November 2), the FVREB indicated that real estate agents in the region sold 699 detached houses in October 2021.

The benchmark price for a detached house in Fraser Valley rose to $ 1,396,700 last month.

This is an increase of 33 percent compared to the price of $ 1,046,900 in October 2020.

The most expensive detached houses are in South Surrey and White Rock, where the benchmark price was $ 1,767,200.
