Teenage boy ‘repeatedly beaten’ and robbed by two men on train in East London

A teenage boy was “repeatedly beaten” before being robbed by two men on a train in East London.

A teenage boy and girl were contacted by two men on the train above ground, traveling from Upminster to Romford around noon. 18.30 on 25 July.

The men then attacked the boy and stole his bag, while the girl was also assaulted as she tried to intervene.

The boy followed the two men along the train and was able to pick up his bag after they continued to fight him.

The men then got off the train at Romford station.

In a statement on Thursday (August 26), British transport police released four photos of two men they want to talk to as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.

A BTP spokesman added: “Do you recognize these men? Officers investigating a robbery in which a teenage couple were assaulted aboard a train running from Upminster to Romford are today releasing CCTV footage related to it.

“Officers believe the men in the CCTV footage may have information that could help their investigation.”
