Rescue services called for shooting at the cafe in Sale just months after it opened

Emergency services were called to a fire at a cafe in Sale a few months after it opened.

NaNa’s Cafe & Grill, which first opened in late July according to its Facebook page, was shut down this morning.

The building appears to have been damaged by the fire, although the extent of the damage is not yet known.

A spokesman for the fire department said the fire ‘involved a commercial property with homes above’.

Police said a ‘small number of residents’ were evacuated as a security measure.

Firefighters were on the scene for “several hours”.

An investigation into the fire is ongoing.

The cafe was pictured cordoned off this morning with a police car stationed at the scene.

A spokesman for GMFRS said: “Around 10.15pm on Monday the 20th th September, firefighters were called to a fire on Curzon Road, in Sale.

Six fire trucks from Altrincham, Sale and Stretford stations arrived quickly.

“The fire involved a commercial property with housing above.

“Firefighters wearing respirators used three hose reels and a gas monitor to put out the fire.

“Firefighters were present for several hours.”

A GMP spokesman said: “Police were called just after 10pm last night for reports of a fire at a bar and restaurant on School Road in Sale.

“Emergency services participated and a small number of residents from the surrounding properties were evacuated as a security measure.
