Pennsylvania sees the highest daily COVID-19 cases in two months as the Delta variant spreads – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – Pennsylvania has seen its highest number of COVID-19 cases since May, when the Delta variant spread, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

There were 986 additional positive cases of COVID-19 reported on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases overall to 1,221,657. The last time Pennsylvania saw so many cases was on May 27, when health officials reported 980 cases.

There are 430 people admitted with 97 patients in the intensive care unit.

The state’s overall percentage positivity for the week of July 16 – July 22 was 2.6%.
