Ottawa Weather: Snow is expected to cover Ottawa on Friday

OTTAWA – The city of Ottawa will receive the season’s first significant snowfall on Friday.

Environment Canada’s weather forecast says showers will turn to snow Friday morning. The amount of snow will be 5 cm.

Ottawa has so far only received 1.6 inches of snow in November.

A winter weather guide has been issued for Arnprior, Renfrew, Pembroke, Petawawa, Barry’s Bay and Killaloe.

“Periods of rain or drizzle will change to snow overnight as cold air flows into the region and temperatures begin to fall. Total snowfalls of 5 cm are expected when the snow subsides late Friday afternoon or in the evening,” he said. Environment Canada.

Thursday, several hours of freezing rain made roads and sidewalks slippery across Ottawa.

At least one road at the western end was closed due to ice conditions, police said.

Friday night it will be cloudy with minus 7 C.

The view for Saturday and Sunday is a mix of sun and clouds both days, with temperatures during the season.
