Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a violent incident in the Darwin suburb of Karama over the weekend.
The 46-year-old was charged with a riot in Koolinda Crescent on Sunday night that allegedly involved a number of men armed with poles and angular weapons.
Two men were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the other participants allegedly fled the scene in two vehicles.
Police have charged two other men, ages 19 and 20, with acts aimed at causing grievous bodily harm.
The charges come just a day after Northern Territory Police called witnesses to report.
In a police statement issued Monday, senior sergeant Annette Cooper described the incident as “extremely worrying”.
All three men were remanded in custody to appear in Darwin’s local court today.
