No injuries in naughty driving shooting in Surrey

VANCOUVER – Mounties in Surrey closed a crossroads in the city’s Newton district on Saturday night when officers investigated a drive-by shooting.

It happened around noon. 17 at the intersection of 128 Street and 60 Avenue, where a red Dodge Caravan had stopped to take a left turn.

A white newer Audi Q5 SUV drove past the minivan and fired several shots at the two people inside, according to the Surrey RCMP.

Police say the shooter fled the scene and drove south on 128 Street toward 56 Avenue.

No bullets hit the people inside the caravan, though one person suffered minor damage from the glass that broke inside the vehicle, police said.

Video from the scene shows the red van with broken rear windows and a hole in the windshield.

Authorities say they are waiting for the victims to cooperate and provide more information.

The RCMP asks anyone with dash cam recordings or information to contact them at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers.
