More than 30 wounded in repulsive attacks inside the Miami area store

More than 30 customers were injured Saturday when a suspect sprayed a strong repellent inside a store in the Miami area, police said.

After taking candles by force from Bath & Body Works at the Miami International Mall in Doral, Florida, the suspect fled in a yellow taxi, Doral Police spokesman Rey Valdes said.

Police had not yet arrested.

“We actually started coughing where we were and we weren’t even that close,” a shopper told NBC Miami. “We felt it. We could smell it. We could breathe it.”

A manager who was sprayed directly in the face was admitted to hospital, the TV statue reported.

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department did not immediately respond to a request for information on shoppers’ status.

Valdes said the repellent may have been bear spray, which is more potent than pepper spray.

Juliet Arcodia the contribution.
