Liverpool fans have shared their views on Tottenham Hotspur’s recent managerial appointment as the club confirmed Antonio Conte has taken charge.
Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked on Monday following Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United, and now former Chelsea manager Conte is returning to the Premier League.
A statement on Spurs’ official website read: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Antonio Conte as our head coach on a contract until the summer of 2023 with the possibility of extension.
“Antonio has won Serie A titles, including a hat-trick by the Scudettos with Juventus, the Premier League and also managed Italy, leading the Azzurri to the quarter-finals of the European Championship 2016.”

However, Liverpool fans are relieved that Conte is returning to London as opposed to joining rivals Manchester United.
After United’s 5-0 defeat of the Reds a few weeks ago, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær was under intense pressure when the United board ‘considered’ his future, and Conte was appointed as a potential replacement.
The Manchester club has chosen to stick to Solskjær and has now missed appointing the Italian manager.
Conte has previously won the Premier League title and the FA Cup during his time at Chelsea and continued to manage Inter Milan in 2019 and traveled in May this year.
Tottenham manager Fabio Paratici said: “Conte’s track record speaks for itself, with great experience and trophies in both Italy and England.
“I know for myself what qualities Antonio can bring to us, after working with him at Juventus, and I look forward to seeing his work here.”
