Facebook memories appear as daily reminders of things you’ve shared or tagged in on the social network. You can’t disable Facebook reminders, but you can control what appears in them by excluding specific people and dates. Here’s how.
Hide dates and people from Facebook reminders
To prevent certain dates or people from appearing in your Facebook memories, go to Home Facebook Memories or select “Reminders” in the sidebar while browsing Facebook in a desktop web browser.
You will now see a list of your reminders, with a sidebar on the left. Click “Hide People” and then type a name in the box to hide all reminders associated with a specific person.
Click “Hide dates” and then “Add new date range” to specify a start and end date to exclude reminders. You can effectively disable Facebook Reminders by blacklisting the entire date range in this menu.
You can also access this area through Facebook’s mobile apps. To do this, tap the “More” tab (it looks like three horizontal lines), then choose “Reminders” and tap the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. You can now choose to “Hide people” or “Hide dates” to narrow down what is displayed.
Also Enable Facebook Reminders Notifications
You can’t opt out of Facebook reminders, but you can do your best to ignore the feature. One way to do this is to disable the notification that pops up reminding you that “You have reminders” every day.
Go to Ga Home Facebook Memories or click “Reminders” in the sidebar while viewing Facebook in a desktop browser (you may need to click “Show More” first).
Click “Notifications” in the sidebar on the left and select “None” to disable Facebook Memories notifications, or “Highlights” to see what Facebook considers your top highlights. You’ll still see reminders appear in your News Feed, but now you won’t get any additional notifications about them.
To do this on mobile, tap the “More” tab (it looks like three horizontal lines) and choose “Reminders” then tap the gear icon in the top right corner. You can now choose “None” to remove these notifications altogether.
