Hamilton police make massive drugs and weapons bust on the mountain – Hamilton

Hamilton police have made a massive drug bust involving raids on six homes on Hamilton Mountain.

Police say they have seized more than $ 3 million in drugs and cash, along with 35 firearms and thousands of cartridges, as part of a three-month investigation called “Project Munro.”

The investigation involved 24 search warrants, resulting in 16 people facing a total of 213 charges.

The many charges include possession and trafficking of cannabis and cocaine and several firearm-related offenses.

Investigators say 2,500 cannabis plants with a street value of $ 2 million were also seized.

Police say that during the raid, nearly 35 percent of the firearms they seized were either loaded or unsafe stored.
