Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has made a senior appointment for the Asia-Pacific region, hiring Michael Harden from rival Willis Re for the role of President, Asia-Pacific.
Harden has a career spanning more than 45 years in insurance and reinsurance, including approximately three decades with Willis Re.
During that time, he held positions as CEO of Willis Re Bermuda and most recently served as Asia-Pacific President for the company.
Harden will join Guy Carpenter as president of Asia Pacific with immediate effect, although he was signaled about a year ago that he would be moving to the company.

Harden will be tasked with working with Guy Carpenter’s network of offices in the Asia-Pacific region to expand offerings and enhance the delivery of services, strategic solutions and differentiated value to customers.
He will report to Tony Gallagher, Asia Pacific CEO Guy Carpenter.
