A four-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being left in a bus outside a childcare center for an hour in Townsville.
The Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed to NCA NewsWire that the disturbing incident took place at 1 p.m. 10.20am Thursday on Martinez Ave, reportedly outside the Milestone’s Early Learning facility in The Lakes.
The spokesman said the child allegedly “had been placed inside a closed bus”.
The girl was rushed to Townsville Hospital and the Queensland Police Service is now investigating the incident.
She was reportedly in “good health” after being transported to the hospital.
The Townsville Bulletin reported that the child was allegedly strapped into the seat when she was found and that an email from the company that operates the facility, Affinity Education Group, said it had immediately put a break in the daycare bus.
“We have been informed that the child did not suffer significant harm, but given this incident as a result of a serious breach of our policies and practices, we have taken the decision to suspend our bus connections across Townsville while we conducting an internal investigation, “according to the email, according to the report from Masthead.
“Our mandatory training will be republished to all employees operating our bus service and all current policies and procedures will be thoroughly reviewed.”
