Ministers are under pressure to enforce measures on electric scooters after a collision left a three-year-old girl with serious injuries.
The child was in stable condition at the hospital on Wednesday, but police said she had “life-changing” injuries. She was hit around noon. 20.30 on Monday while playing in Myatt’s Fields Park, Lambeth, south London.
People living nearby said the park had been destroyed by e-scooter riders. Other children almost had accidents with drivers driving at high speeds.
Natalia Osipova, 43, said her nine-year-old daughter, Anna, was nearly hit by one while playing with her dog. “There’s a certain guy running around very fast,” she said. “You can not believe how fast and he even walks into the playground.”
