Cybereason buys fellow Israeli fellow Empow

Israeli company Cyber Age bought another Israeli company, Empow Cyber Security Ltd., for an undisclosed amount. The deal is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. Empow has developed a system for the analysis, identification and automated management of cyber threats using machine learning. The company is located in Ramat Gan.

“The empow acquisition adds innovative predictive response technology, a library of turnkey data integrations, and top-notch engineering and product talent. These capabilities will be incorporated into the Cybereason XDR offering to further the company’s mission to end cyberattacks on the endpoint, across the enterprise, to everywhere the battle takes place,” said Cybereason’s announcement.

Lior Div, co-founder and CEO of Cybereason, said: “The parallels between the evolution of the Cybereason solution over the past few years and the more recent development of the empow offering are astounding. When we really delved into the empow capabilities, We saw how complementary our approaches are to solving the critical security challenges organizations are grappling with, and realized that bringing Empower’s capabilities and team to Cybereason was both a good business decision and a catalyst for further market disruption.”

empow Founder and CEO Avi Chesla added: “Cybereason has long been recognized as a leader in the EDR and EPP space, and its operations-centric approach to delivering deep contextual correlations provided by the ability to identify MalOps defines the gold standard for XDR solutions. There was a lot of natural synergy in everything both companies were already doing, and we’re really excited about the acquisition because this really is a case where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

Cybereason recently secured $275 million in crossover funding and successfully completed round 3 of the MITER Engenuity ATT&CK evaluations.
