OTTAWA – The Covid-19 vaccination rate continues to rise in all neighborhoods in Ottawa, where 11 neighborhoods have at least 90 percent of residents 12 years and older fully vaccinated.

Ottawa Public Health reports that 91 percent of Ottawa residents 12 years and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 88 percent have received two doses of the vaccine and are considered fully vaccinated.

On Friday, the first COVID-19 vaccines were given to children ages 5 to 11 in Ottawa.

According to the updated Ottawa Neighborhood Study statistics on COVID-19 vaccination rates, at least 71 percent of residents 12 years and older in each neighborhood across Ottawa have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and are considered fully vaccinated.

Vars has the highest neighborhood vaccination rate in Ottawa, with 105 percent of residents fully vaccinated. The population estimates for each quarter are from December 2020, which is probably the reason why Vars exceeds 100 percent vaccination rate.

Cumberland has the second-highest neighborhood vaccination rate in Ottawa with 97.4 percent of residents fully vaccinated, while Edwards-Carlsbad Springs is at 94 percent.

The Ottawa Neighborhood Study, which looks at vaccination rates through Nov. 22, shows only 103 residents 12 years and older in Cumberland and 180 residents in Edwards-Carlsbad Springs who are not fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, all neighborhoods in Ottawa have fully vaccinated at least 71 percent of residents 12 years and older. The vaccination rate in Ledbury – Heron Gate-Ridgemont increased almost four percent through the month of November.

  • Stonebridge – Half Moon Bay – Heart’s Desire – 91.6 percent (94.3 percent with one dose)

  • South Keys – Greenboro West – 90.9 percent (94.2 percent with one dose)

  • Manotick – 90.5 percent (93.1 percent with one dose)

  • Findlay Creek – 90.1 percent (93.9 percent with one dose)
