Hockey fans will have a special opportunity to get in touch with the hosts of Rogers Hometown Hockey, Ron MacLean and Tara Slone through the Algonquin College Virtual Speaker Series.
Rogers has announced that its three-day outdoor celebration of hockey will be in Pembroke the weekend of 4-6. December, where MacLean and Slone will host a Sportsnet viewing party in the parking lot at the Pembroke Memorial Center during Monday, December 6th. th national broadcast of the Colorado Avalanche and the Philadelphia Flyers game.
Ahead of the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour stop in Pembroke, MacLean and Slone will make themselves available for an hour-long virtual question and answer session on Thursday, November 18th from 6 p.m. 19:00 to 20:00
Algonquin’s head of Community and Student Affairs, Jamie Bramburger, who will moderate the session, says the College is genuinely excited to contribute to Rogers Hometown Hockey event.
“Hockey has a special place in Pembroke. Our community is passionate about the sport and we know that hockey fans will really appreciate the chance to have a conversation with Ron and Tara in anticipation of their visit to our community. It will be very informative and educational, but also a lot of fun, ”said Bramburger.
Since 2014, Rogers Hometown Hockey has celebrated Canada’s love of coast-to-coast hockey and visited over 130 communities for eight seasons. The free, family-friendly hockey festival’s visit to Pembroke coincides with the 70s th anniversary of the Pembroke Memorial Center, a community center that for many years has hosted the college convening ceremony and is home to the Pembroke Lumber Kings Junior A hockey team.
