A death in Braxton County accident | WDVM25 and DCW50

BRAXTON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident near the 73-mile marker of I-79 in Braxton County shortly before noon. 13.00 this afternoon, Tuesday 2 November.

Emergency management says the accident involved a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer. Officials from Braxton County 911 tell us that the crash was fatal and one of the vehicles ran over a hillside and it required “a heavy-duty wreck” to pull it up again.

According to the Burnsville Police Department, the pickup truck driving north crossed the center and was hit by a tractor trailer. Authorities say the pickup driver was killed in the crash.

The tractor-trailer drove over the side of a hill, but officers say the driver was not injured.

The Braxton County Sheriff’s Office, Burnsville Fire and Police Departments and the Flatwoods Police Department and Sutton Volunteer Fire Department responded on the spot.
