Russia Test-Launches Ballistic and Cruise Missiles

MOSCOW — Russia Saturday test-launched ballistic and cruise missiles in what it described as strategic deterrence exercises, a pointed reminder of its ability to wage nuclear war amid a standoff with the West over Ukraine.

President Vladimir Putin personally oversaw the launches from a command center alongside his Belarusian ally and counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, a Kremlin pool report said.
